Hosted by the National Institute for African Studies (NIAS), Nigeria Month brings together leaders, founders, artists, chefs and athletes for a panoramic look at a nation in motion
Every year, NIAS curates a deep, intentional exploration of three African countries not to display them, but to listen to them, learn from them, and stand with them.
This year, we began with Sudan, in the middle of displacement, defiance, and dreams. We also walked through the Democratic Republic of Congo, where memory, music, and mineral wealth have always lived in tension and beauty. And now, we arrive at Nigeria. Not as a final stop, but as a centre.
Nigeria Month is a one-month sequence of conversations, performances, screenings, innovations and meals that showcase Nigeria’s global impact and how the country wrestles with some of the hardest questions of nationhood.
